What does a Marketing & Sales Manager do?

Secure new clients for the company and manage marketing activities performed with and by colleagues.

In your first two weeks, you’ll get your footing – learning all about Mach Media, our Sales Playbook, and building internal and external relationships, to add to your extensive existing network.

At three months, you’ll have completed several in-person prospect meetings, further developing your foundation as a sales master – able to confidently and efficiently deliver our pitch, secure in our positioning.

At six months, you’ll have closed at least 200k in new agency business.

And after your first year? You’ll be an essential part of the Mach Media team, driving our market penetration and meeting all of your sales targets.

In general: Together with Mach Media’s leadership and accounts teams, you’ll increase sales opportunities to maximize revenue with new clients. You’ll take the lead on Mach Media’s marketing initiatives, ensuring all marketing initiatives directly support your sales strategy.

You will work directly with MM’s European and US Directors and will report to our Managing Partner, collaborating to drive sales.

Who do we hope you are?

  • You’re passionate about marketing communications, with strong leadership skills.
  • You have a solid understanding of all phases of sales – from prospecting to proposal development, negotiation and closing deals. You know your way around a CRM, and you don’t think GDPR is the name of a radio station!
  • You’re bold, you work to open doors, through cold calls, networking, social selling, etc. You do what it takes to close deals.
  • You have at least three years of work experience in growing sales and driving marketing within an agency or other service industry.
  • You understand that to succeed in Sales, you need to get out there. Trans-Atlantic travel is something you’ll relish.
  • You’re able to build rapport with senior executives (including C-Suite level).
  • And you are comfortable with strategic negotiation.

What does an account executive do?

  • Support US and European colleagues by ensuring smooth running of projects and accounts.
  • Content creation (writing) for social media, marketing campaigns, web and e-marketing copy, video scripts, client presentations and reports, case studies, press releases, white papers and more. Deliver digital content that’s engaging and thoughtful, all based on your expertise as a multichannel communicator.
  • Create marketing communications/PR plans and editorial calendars.
  • Create and execute client and agency social media calendars and outreach.
  • Comfortably work with graphics, visuals, CMS systems (especially WordPress) and video.
  • Support business development for the agency: help develop pitches and proposals, conduct research, work for growth.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies, tools and apps, to explore new ways of promoting clients and identifying their unique selling points.
  • Minimal travel (10-20% per year), to Europe to meet agency colleagues.

What do we hope you have?

  • At least 2 years of relevant corporate communications and marketing experience supporting clients and their needs. Bonus if you’ve worked in an agency!
  • Versatility and adaptability – juggle projects and prioritize like a champion.
  • Ability to sweat the small stuff, see and correct the details.
  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, new media, PR, journalism or enough enthusiasm (and relevant background) to make us forget that you don’t.
